Australian Mardi Gras

The BBC reported this weekend that around 300,000 spectators have turned out to watch the 30th annual gay and lesbian Mardi Gras parade through central Sydney. This a significant year for the event, celebrating 30 years of events. With the election of a new government last year it's an optimistic time for many Australians.
