Sex Tourism

The 'sex tourism' has come to hold an immensely negative con nation, typically suggesting some Gary Glitter-esque holiday abusing children.  In reality, many people engage in 'sex tourism', visiting locations for new sexual experiences whether that means an international city such as Berlin or London, a salesman arranging rendezvous with other men in his hotel room, or a trucker having fun in their cab.  The Into the Abyss blog posted a nice little post about their kinky adventures on a recent visit to San Francisco, reminding us of the joy that these venues can offer, and promoting the question, as to why these experiences can't always be replicated back at home?

there are loads of kinky parties in the UK all the time.

I went to one and found it tedious though. So maybe they are more fun in SF - I don't know though. sex is sex wherever it is.

sorry to be a party pooper but personally, I dont think sex is any more fun than other pastimes.

The whole 'fun' discourse of sex I find annoying.

I just finished reading Sex Terror by Mark Simpson. One of his Attitude columns featured in the book was about the trend for going on holiday to have sex. he claimed not to partake in this custom but left it a bit ambiguous at the end.

He, like me, though, suggested the 'fun' holiday sex myth is just that, a myth.

Ahh but I deliberately made a distinction between 'holiday' and 'tourism'. The two are different. Would Mark extend his theory to the businessman stopping off at a service station hotel far from home?

(or business woman).

I have no idea. He has gone very quiet of late. Let's hope he will tell us his theories on anything before too long.
