The Changing Landscape of Marriage and Divorce

South-West England based law firm, Stephens Scown Solicitors, have apparently been digging around the research stats and identified emerging trends relating to marriage and divorce.  It's the usual marketing wheeze to build profile, but the stats they've pulled out and the rather cool infographic they've produced are well worth a look.

Their findings show: 
  •  32% of marriages last between 6 to 10 years. 
  • The beginning of WW2 sparked a 20% increase in marriages - When soldiers returned home divorce rates almost doubled. 
  • 1.8 million couples contemplate divorcing during Christmas. 
  • 75% of New Year divorces are initiated by women. 
I'm curious how many people 'contemplate' murder over the Christmas people too.  They have put together a creative infographic to showcase their findings which you can see below:
