Follow Friday: Jane Fae

It's Friday which means it's time for a special Follow Friday shout-out.  This week I'm giving a special shout out to an amazing activist and feisty defender of sexual liberty, @JaneFae.  Jane Fae's blog, detailing her transition has been as moving as it is revealing.   She's also a journalist and writer with her excellent text (published under her previous name) Beyond the Circle a key read for my law and sexuality class. That text argues in no uncertain terms that the entire approach to sex and sexuality in Britain today is discriminatory, in that it presumes a normal and “correct” (heteronormative) way for individuals to conduct themselves - and therefore sees all alternative forms of sexual conduct as needing to be subject to strict legal "safeguards".  You can order it here.
